Take Action Philly Refugee Adjustment of Status Training

Blank Rome is proud to partner with Take Action Philly to host a Refugee Adjustment of Status Training on Tuesday, September 18, at the Firm’s Philadelphia office. Following this training, volunteers will attend an upcoming legal clinic to assist refugees with preparing and filing applications for adjustment of status to Legal Permanent Residents (Green Card holders).

This training is part of the Philadelphia Office of Immigrant Affairs’ Welcoming Week 2018, being held September 14-24. A national initiative, Welcoming Week builds common ground in Philadelphia’s communities to encourage dialogue and forge relationships between immigrants, refugees, and U.S.-born citizens. For more information and a full list of events, download the Welcoming Week flyer here.

In November 2017, Blank Rome was recognized by the City of Philadelphia for its essential role in the formation of Take Action Philly, an initiative that was launched in February 2017 by the Philadelphia Bar Association, City of Philadelphia, and a number of prominent nonprofit legal aid organizations with the goal of uniting lawyers, government, community organizations, and residents to protect and assist Philadelphia’s most vulnerable residents, focusing first on refugee and immigration policy. Through Take Action Philly, Blank Rome has organized multiple clinics for refugees seeking to adjust their immigration status to Permanent Legal Resident over the last year.
