Blank Rome partner Shawn M. Wright and Director of Diversity & Inclusion Krystal Studavent Ramsey will serve as speakers at the National Bar Association’s (“NBA”) 97th NBA Convention, being held July 24 through 29, 2022, in Memphis, Tennessee.

Krystal will moderate “The State of the Black Woman Lawyer in America” as part of the Women Lawyers Division 50th Anniversary Celebration on Monday, July 25, from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m.., and Shawn will act as a panelist.

In addition, we are pleased to share that they have both been nominated for awards that will be given out at the Women Lawyers Division’s Honors and Achievement Awards Breakfast on July 26:

  • Krystal Studavent Ramsey, Director of Diversity & Inclusion, Outstanding Woman Lawyer in a Non-Traditional Setting Award Nominee
  • Shawn M. Wright, Partner, Co-Chair, Litigation Department, and Co-Chair, Washington, D.C., Office, Outstanding Minority Partner in a Major Law Firm Award Nominee

The National Bar Association was founded in 1925 and is the nation's oldest and largest national network of predominantly African American attorneys and judges. It represents the interests of approximately 66,000 lawyers, judges, law professors, and law students. ABOUT THE NBA WOMEN LAWYERS DIVISION

The National Bar Association Women Lawyers Division (“WLD”) was founded in 1972 as a sub-part of the National Bar Association. The WLD’s membership includes both women and men and represents every sector of the legal community, including private practitioners from firms of every size and specialty, professors, judges, law clerks, corporate counsel, prosecutors, government lawyers, and law students. A champion for women issues, the Women Lawyers Division was established to address issues important to the community we serve and to women in particular.
