Blank Rome Partners Sophia Lee, who is the firm’s Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Emeritus, and William J. Anthony will serve as speakers for the Retail Industry Leaders Association’s Retail Law Conference 2021, being held virtually October 26 through 28, 2021.
Sophia’s session, “Developing ESG Policies that Minimize Legal Risk,” will take place on Wednesday, October 27, from 1:30 to 2:20 p.m. EDT. This Retail Roundtable is a chance for retail counsel to explore this challenging issue with colleagues across the retail industry. The Roundtable will be conducted under the Chatham House Rule, co-moderated by Sophia and Ron Masciantonio, Senior Vice President & General Counsel, Five Below, Inc., and limited to 15 in-house counsel to facilitate a meaningful conversation on this important topic.
Will and Carrie Terraferma, Vice President of Legal Services & Corporate Secretary, The Golub Corporation, will present “Contractual or Common Law Indemnification Claims for Contingent Workforce May Be Void as Against Public Policy” on Thursday, October 28, from 3:30 to 4:20 p.m. EDT, outlining the state of the law and best practices moving forward to help employers safely engage a contingent workforce.
