SESSION DESCRIPTION

Common organizational structures, related-party transactions, and nexus and sourcing postures are increasingly under scrutiny by the states. This panel of multistate income/franchise tax professionals will discuss the increased trend in many states of challenging related-party transactions, the erosion of P.L. 86-272 protections, and other select income and franchise tax developments impacting businesses today. They will consider how states continue to collaborate on transfer pricing work; the potential consequences businesses may face if they are unable to provide state-requested documentation; and some leading practices to address these concerns from a practical standpoint, including data management and use of modeling tools, documentation, and transfer pricing studies as part of audit defense, and structural enhancements for your business.
