Mortgage Bankers Association Legal Issues and Regulatory Compliance Conference 2018

Blank Rome Partner Scott E. Wortman and Associate Michael P. Trainor will present at the Mortgage Bankers Association (“MBA”) Legal Issues and Regulatory Compliance Conference, being held April 29 through May 2, 2018, at the JW Marriott L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles, CA.

Scott will speak on the panel “Regtech Fintech Track: Blockchain: What You Need to Know,” which will discuss the new distributed ledger technology, blockchain, and how it can morph the mortgage industry; its benefits, including document security and security breach protection; and other trends in cryptocurrency that may impact real estate finance. This session will take place Tuesday, May 1, from 1:00 to 2:15 p.m.

Michael will co-present “CMCP TRACK: Reviewing Marketing for Compliance Professionals” with James M. Milano, Partner at Weiner Brodsky Kider PC. This presentation provides an overview of federal regulations relevant to advertising, marketing, and other consumer communications, and then presents practical tips for reviewing marketing pieces for compliance. This session will take place Sunday, April 29, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m.
