Mandatory Arbitration Agreements after Epic System Corp. v. Lewis

PBI Employment Law Institute 2018

Pennsylvania Convention Center
1101 Arch Street
Philadelphia, PA

Blank Rome Of Counsel Hon. James T. Giles (Ret.) and Partner Anthony B. Haller will speak at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute (“PBI”) Employment Law Institute 2018 on Friday, April 27, 2018, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, PA.

James and Anthony’s presentation, “Mandatory Arbitration Agreements after Epic System Corp. v. Lewis,” will explore whether the National Labor Relations Act trumps the Federal Arbitration Act, and as a result precludes class action waivers in employee arbitration agreements, permitting compulsory individualized arbitration of wage and hour demands, and if exempt workers are exempt in these cases.

The PBI Employment Law Institute offers a complete update on changes in the law affecting the workplace and concrete insights into why those changes matter. Presents explore trends in evidentiary rulings, discovery in employment discrimination cases, how to make strategic trial decisions, and more.
