Emily believes expressive writing is a powerful emotional and physical healing tool. By encouraging people to confront and articulate their thoughts and feelings, the expressive writing practice facilitates emotional processing, cognitive restructuring, and, ultimately, improved well-being. This talk will provide a practical guide for integrating expressive writing into daily life, with a special emphasis on how to incorporate letter writing as a means to let go and move on.

Emily Anne Nava is a writer who believes that language holds immense power for transformation. After receiving a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Southern California, she left academia to pursue a career in the tech industry. She spent 15 years working at publicly traded companies and startups where she crafted compelling, evidence-based narratives that provided executives with strategic information for scaling critical business components. In 2023 she started her writing, editing, and narrative therapy business, Tumbleweed Pioneer, where she supports her clients in creating precise and purposeful content.
