Online Event

Blank Rome White Collar Defense & Investigations partner Ariel S. Glasner will serve as a speaker for “How Sanctions against Russian Oligarchs Are Affecting Jewish Philanthropy,” a moderated discussion hosted by the American Association of Jewish Lawyers & Jurists (“AAJLJ”) on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. EDT, via Zoom.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Numerous governments, including the United States, European Union, and the United Kingdom, have pushed back on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine by imposing a rash of sanctions targeting Russia’s ability to conduct trade and participate in the global economy and freezing the assets of Russia’s government officials and its wealthiest citizens—many of whom have provided philanthropic support to Jewish charitable and communal organizations. In a discussion moderated by AAJLJ Vice President Rhonda Lees, Ariel Glasner and Stephanie Schwartz will address the legal and collateral consequences of sanctions, how Jewish charitable and communal organizations may be wrestling with difficult issues stemming from the invasion of Ukraine, and how these organizations can prepare themselves to face what may lie ahead.
