NAMEPA Marine Operations Seminar—2023 Navigating Sustainability: GHGs and ESG

Houston Pilots Headquarters
203 Deerwood Glen Drive
Deer Park, TX 77536

Blank Rome Maritime’s Keith B. Letourneau will serve as a speaker at North American Marine Environment Protection Association’s (“NAMEPA”) 2023 Marine Operations Seminar, 2023 Navigating Sustainability: GHGs and ESG, being held on Thursday, March 2, 2023, at the Houston Pilots Headquarters in Deer Park, Texas, from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m., with a reception to follow.

ABOUT THE SEMINAR

Global society is getting closer to the marine transportation system, especially with its demands for performance. This is a “new normal” facing shipping today which needs to be addressed in order to be successful moving forward. Public demands for ESG (environmental, social, and governance) are accelerating, warnings about climate change are being heard, lending practices are changing, technology is advancing, and other impacts. The shipping industry needs to find solutions to meet impending global requirements for reducing CO2 emissions and more. How WILL the industry be judged on the world’s stage? How WILL it meet these demands? Are these threats for shipping or opportunity? Speakers will discuss what they believe is the pathway forward and the associated challenges for greenhouse gases (“GHGs”) and ESG.

Keith’s session, “Regulatory,” will take place from 1:30 to 2:40 p.m. and he will be joined by Capt. Amy Beach, Chief of Inspections and Compliance, United States Coast Guard.

Other sessions include:

  • Technical
  • Operational
  • Societal

Blank Rome Maritime is pleased to be a sponsor of the Seminar.
