Fundamentals of Real Estate Tax Assessment Appeals and Minimization Strategies in Philadelphia

Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia, PA

Blank Rome Partner Adam E. Laver will be leading the CLE panel, “Fundamentals of Real Estate Tax Assessment Appeals and Minimization Strategies in Philadelphia,” at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s (“PBI”) 21st Annual Real Estate Institute, on Thursday, December 7, 2017.

Mr. Laver will be joined by Robert N.C. Nix, III, Esquire (Secretary, Board of Revision of Taxes) and Drew E. Aldinger, Esquire (Chief Deputy City Solicitor, City of Philadelphia Law Department, Property Assessment Unit), to discuss the procedures and general deadlines for perfecting appeals to Philadelphia’s Board of Revision of Taxes, as well as the time of filing and the local rules of filing and contents of appeal pleadings. The panel will also review how to weigh whether or not to file an appeal; when independent appraisal reports are required; and the procedures/practice regulations before the Board of Revision of Taxes.

This two-day program, co-sponsored by PBI and the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, has been approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board for 12 hours of CLE credit.
