Fundamentals of Real Estate Tax Assessment Appeals and Minimization Strategies in Philadelphia

Blank Rome Partner Adam E. Laver will be leading the CLE panel, “Fundamentals of Real Estate Tax Assessment Appeals and Minimization Strategies in Philadelphia,” at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s (“PBI”) 19th Annual Real Estate Institute, on Thursday, December 10, 2015, at 1:00 p.m.

Mr. Laver will be joined by Robert N.C. Nix, III, Esquire (Secretary, Board of Revision of Taxes) and Drew E. Aldinger, Esquire (Senior Attorney, Office of Property Assessment), to discuss the procedures and general deadlines for perfecting appeals to Philadelphia’s Board of Revision of Taxes, as well as the time of filing and the local rules of filing and contents of appeal pleadings. The panel will also review how to weigh whether or not to file an appeal; when independent appraisal reports are required; and the procedures/practice regulations before the Board of Revision of Taxes.

This one-day program, co-sponsored by PBI and the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, and has been approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board for 6 hours of CLE credit.
