Blank Rome Partner Jennifer Short will serve as a panel speaker on the topic of “False Claims Act Settlements” at the American Bar Association (“ABA”) Section of Public Contract Law Procurement Fraud & False Claims Committee Meeting taking place Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 12:00 to 1:15pm EST.
The panelists will provide an overview of the False Claims Act settlement process and discuss strategy considerations and best practices from each of their perspectives, including:
- The multi-party settlement process between the Department of Justice, other government agencies, the relator(s), and the defendant
- The negotiation of the relator’s share of the settlement
- The negotiation of the relator’s attorneys’ fees and costs
- The negotiation of forward-looking compliance or administrative agreements
The panel will be moderated by Committee Co-Chair, Christine Couvillon.
