Election Protection National Voter Information Hotline Clinic
Blank Rome LLP was proud to recently partner with Otsuka America Pharmaceutical to remotely staff the Election Protection English national voter information hotline (1.866.OUR.VOTE), which is administered by the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
During the clinic, 10 volunteers from Blank Rome and Otsuka assisted 38 individuals at all stages of voting by providing them with vital and comprehensive voter information in areas such as registration, absentee and early voting, casting a vote at the polls, and overcoming obstacles to their participation. Prior to their shift, volunteers were required to complete two trainings where they learned how to access the hotline technology remotely and received substantive information on voting.
The national, nonpartisan Election Protection coalition was formed to ensure that all voters have an equal opportunity to participate in the political process.
