ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The reality and practicalities of addressing issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion (“DEI”) in the workplace will be the focus of this CLE program. The presentation will provide guidance on not only how DEI affects in-house legal departments, but also how it impacts law firms, businesses, and governmental agencies. Hear insight and perspective from a General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer, as well as, a leader in addressing diversity, equity and inclusion issues in the legal government agency communities.
Featured speakers will present a frank discussion on making meaningful progress in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the legal industry from the in-house counsel perspective. Topics include:
- How legal departments and law firms can better address diversity issues and incorporate the goal of increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion, including those submitting proposals to handle legal work for companies that value and want to know about their outside counsel’s commitment to diversity
- What legal departments and law firms are and can be doing to promote, increase, and educate their attorneys on diversity, equity, and inclusion
- The explicit and implicit benefits diversity brings to law firms and businesses
- Some steps that can be taken to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion
