Blank Rome's Houston Office Hosts Black History Month Event

Blank Rome's Houston Diversity & Inclusion Committee held a Black History Month event on Friday, February 9, 2018, which honored three prominent Houston Astros African American baseball players, Jimmy Wynn, Bob Watson, and J.R. Richard. Each individual’s story was an example in perseverance and strength to overcome difficult circumstances, and highlighted the office's 2018 diversity theme, "Houston Strong: Championing Diversity to Overcome Adversity."

Blank Rome Partners John Adkins, Chris Keirs, Mike Bell, Doug Shoemaker, and Keith Lutsch donated three pairs of Houston Astros tickets for a raffle, and the Firm provided a baseball themed lunch. As part of the service initiative for Black History Month, Houston staff and attorneys donated five dollars for a "Jeans Day" where everyone wore Houston Astros championship gear. Through those donations, $185 was raised and donated to the Save the Children Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund, which is committed to serving the children and families most affected by Hurricane Harvey for the next two years.
