Blank Rome Sponsors the 2017 MCCA Diversity Gala

Blank Rome LLP was proud to sponsor the 2017 Minority Corporate Counsel Association (“MCCA”) Diversity Gala, the premier national awards program that honors leading corporate law departments and individuals who champion diversity and inclusion. The event was held on October 4, 2017, at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.

In attendance were Blank Rome Partners Mayling Blanco, Jonathon Korn, Mark Lee, Sophia Lee, and Michael Rowe, Of Counsel Suzette Rodriquez, and Associates Melanie Carter and Mitesh Patel.

Three awards were presented at the Diversity Gala: 1) The Lifetime Achievement Award, which is awarded to an individual who has made significant advancements in engendering a society that fully appreciates, celebrates, and recognizes the value of diversity; 2) the Employer of Choice Award, which spotlights industry-leading Fortune 1000 corporate legal departments who have succeeded in creating, implementing, and maintaining a diverse and inclusive corporate legal department; and 3) the Thomas L. Sager Award, which is presented to large Am Law 200 law firms that have demonstrated a sustained commitment to improving the hiring, retention, and promotion of diverse attorneys. 

The Diversity Gala followed the MCCA Creating Pathways to Diversity Conference, held October 2-4, which Blank Rome Partner & Chief Officer of Diversity and Inclusion Chris Lewis attended. The annual conference promotes the advancement of diversity and inclusion in the legal profession through programs focused on global diversity, inclusive leadership, and talent optimization.
