Blank Rome Partner Charles S. Marion will serve as a panelist at the Philadelphia Bar Association’s To Be or Not to Be a Franchisor or Franchisee CLE event taking place Tuesday, December 17, 2019, from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m., at the Philadelphia Bar Association Conference Center.

Hosted by the Franchise Law Committee, this program will provide guidance and a basic understanding of the unique considerations and legal nuances in the decision to become a prospective franchisor or prospective franchisee and will examine the following and more:

  • How franchising compares to other methods and forms of growing a business (including joint ventures, or maintaining sole ownership but opening other branches)
  • The federal and state legal requirements that exist and must be satisfied in order to establish a franchise system
  • Protections potential franchisees may have in terms of geographic exclusivity, termination, transfers of their franchises, etc.
