American College of Coverage Counsel 9th Annual Meeting

The InterContinental Chicago
505 North Michigan Ave.
Chicago, IL

Blank Rome partners Lisa M. Campisi, Seth D. Lamden, and Linda Kornfeld will speak at the American College of Coverage Counsel’s (“ACCC”) 9th Annual Meeting, being held September 22 through 24, 2021, in Chicago, Illinois.

Lisa’s panel, “Recent Developments in Excess Judgment Liability,” will take place on Thursday, September 23, from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. Panelists will discuss the extent to which pro-policyholder rules prevail in many jurisdictions (and might be followed in jurisdictions that have not yet ruled on the issues) and the problems those rules create; as well as opportunities that such rules may create for policyholders.

Seth and Linda will participate in sessions on Friday, September 24.

Seth will co-present “Insurance Issues in Bankruptcy” at 9:00 a.m., covering some of the most significant coverage issues that can arise in a bankruptcy, as well as the role coverage attorneys play in resolving those disputes and monetizing insurance assets for the benefit of the bankruptcy estate.

Linda’s session, “Insurer Bad Faith 2021 and Beyond: A Survey of Extra Contractual Law and Where Things Stand,” addressing the various schools of thought about for insurance bad faith standards and discuss developing trends and new case decisions in insurance extracontractual/bad faith law, will take place from 10:45 to 11:30 a.m.
