3rd Annual North American Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources Conference

Blank Rome LLP; the Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources (“EENR”) Center of the University of Houston Law Center (“UHLC”); the University of Calgary Faculty of Law; and the Greater Houston Partnership will sponsor the third annual North American Environment, Energy, and Natural Resources Conference, being held April 25 and 26, 2019, in Houston, Texas.

Themed “North American Energy & Environmental Policy and the World: Diverging Approaches and Synergistic Opportunities,” this year’s agenda will feature programs on energy infrastructure buildout; demand and integration of renewable energy; and updates on changes in energy, environment, and climate policy in North America.

Keynote speakers for the conference will be and Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher, Seventh District of Texas, and The Honorable Catherine McKenna, Minister for Environment and Climate, Canada

On Thursday, April 25, at 1:30 p.m., Blank Rome Partner Margaret Anne Hill will provide the conference’s opening remarks with UHLC EENR Co-Director Victor B. Flatt.

Immediately afterward, from 1:45 to 3:00 p.m., as part of the “The Future of U.S. Law and Litigation on Pipeline Buildout” session, Peg, along with Associate Frank L. Tamulonis III, will present “Building Pipelines—the Legal Issues.”

On Friday, April 26, Joseph McMonigle, principal of Blank Rome Government Relations LLC, will present “The View from Washington, D.C.” during the “Changes in Energy, Environment, and Climate Policy in North America” segment, from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. In that same segment, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Partner Matthew J. Thomas will participate in the “International Trade, NAFTA 2.0, and Energy” panel.

From 1:45 to 2:45 p.m., Blank Rome Of Counsel Joan M. Bondareff will speak about “The Future of Offshore Wind” during the session, “The Likely Path for Continued Renewable Deployment.” Following this, Christopher A. Lewis, partner & Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer at Blank Rome, during “Integrating Renewables on the Grid,” from 2:45 to 4:00 p.m., will present “The March of Renewables and Regulation.”

Blank Rome Partner Susan L. Bickley will provide closing remarks for the conference.

9.25 hours of CLE credit pending in TX and 9 hours of CLE credit pending in PA.
