ABOUT THE FORUM
The Professor Paul J. Hartman Memorial State and Local Tax (“SALT”) Forum, sponsored in conjunction with the Vanderbilt University Law School, provides industry, practitioners, and state revenue employees the opportunity to participate in a quality forum exploring significant national developments and trends in state and local taxation. For better or for worse, the majority of states rely on a sales/receipts factor to apportion income for corporate income tax purposes. The panel will discuss recent trends, including the challenges and opportunities that are present in the world of market sourcing.

In this session, the panel will take its cues from attendees by grabbing topics from a grab bag of issues provided by the audience. The panel will present an interactive Q&A session that focuses on current SALT issues and trends in mergers, acquisitions, and business restructurings. The team will dig into their own bag of extensive experience to guide the discussion of SALT issues, due diligence strategies, document preparation, adding value to the transaction team, and any other topic attendees want to discuss.
