Blank Rome Secures Client’s Removal from OFAC Sanctions List

A Blank Rome team achieved the removal of a client from the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (“OFAC”) Foreign Sanctions Evaders (“FSE”) List. The client was designated in February 2019 under Executive Order 13608 in connection with U.S. sanctions on Iran. His delisting marks a significant milestone and concludes a multi‑year effort to restore his standing and remove related restrictions.

Blank Rome’s team provided strategic counsel, coordinated comprehensive sanctions compliance submissions, and engaged directly with relevant government agencies. The firm’s work culminated in OFAC’s decision to remove the client from the FSE List, reflecting a favorable outcome consistent with the legal and factual record developed by the team.

“We are very happy for our client and his family, who worked tirelessly to achieve this result. This outcome is deeply meaningful to them, and it reflects a careful, fact‑driven process and sustained engagement with the government,” said Bradley L. Henry, partner in Blank Rome’s White Collar Defense & Investigations practice.

The Blank Rome team was led by Bradley L. Henry with assistance from Ekinsu Cebi Elkei.
