Blank Rome Represents Yucatan Foods, L.P. in Its $80 Million Sale to Landec Corp.
A Blank Rome team represented Yucatan Foods, L.P., a California guacamole company, as its co-deal counsel and lead tax counsel in its sale to Landec Corp. (NASDAQ: LNDC), a fresh food supplier to retailers, for $80 million, including $60 million in cash and $20 million of Landec stock.
Yucatan, which processes and markets two guacamole brands, “Yucatan” and “Cabo Fresh,” has an annual revenue of $55–60 million. The acquisition should add to Landec’s earnings beginning in fiscal year 2020. The guacamole market in the United States is about $375 million and is growing at about 20 percent a year.
