Blank Rome Provides U.S. Gaming Regulatory Counsel to Sports Entertainment Acquisition Corp. on Merger with Super Group

A Blank Rome team provided U.S. gaming regulatory counsel to Sports Entertainment Acquisition Corp., a publicly traded special purpose acquisition company, in its merger with Super Group, a holding company for global online sports betting and gaming business Betway.

The merger, expected to close in the second half of 2021, will bring Super Group’s global online sports betting and gaming group to the U.S. public markets. The combined company will be listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the name Super Group, with the new ticker symbol “SGHC.”

According to the issued press release, Sports Entertainment Acquisition agreed to the merger based on a $4.75 billion pre-money equity valuation for Super Group, which is licensed in 23 jurisdictions throughout Europe, the Americas, and Africa.
