Summer Program

A Blueprint for Success

At Blank Rome, we believe that you are the architect of your career. We provide the tools and experiences that you need in order to lay a solid foundation for your career as well as help you create your personal blueprint for success that meets both your needs and the needs of our clients.

Guidance

Our summer associate* program is an important building block that consistently earns high marks for its strong interaction opportunities between partners and summer associates. You bring the talent, drive, and leadership potential, and we will provide guidance and a wealth of opportunities to further develop those traits.

Meaningful Work

By selecting from a pool of open assignments, as a summer associate you will have the opportunity to work with as many practice areas, departments, and offices as you can to enable your broader understanding of our practices—and to find your passion! You will work on a variety of actual matters and interact with our firm's clients as well as immerse yourself in a work environment that is collaborative, creative, and enterprising.

A Chance to Give Back

Blank Rome believes in giving back to the communities in which we live and work. Pro bono activities put a human face on the law and develop students' passion for helping those who cannot afford legal representation. Summer associates are an integral part of the firm's pro bono team, and have worked on varied matters such as asylum, child custody, domestic violence, estate planning for low-income senior citizens, and a death penalty appeal.

Social Activities

While we expect hard work from our summer associates, we also believe that social interaction among all of our attorneys and professional staff is equally important, both inside and outside of the firm. Our social activities include a blend of sporting events, recreational activities, and cultural happenings.

Excellent Compensation and Amenities

We offer competitive salaries. Our beautifully appointed offices feature high-end amenities such as fitness centers, full-service cafeterias, and concierge services.

*  "Summer Associate," as we use the term here, connotes a law school student who has not yet applied for admission (other than law student admission under the rules of some jurisdictions for some kinds of matters) and has not yet been admitted to the bar of any state jurisdiction and who is therefore not yet legally qualified to practice law.
