Diverse Scholars Program
In 2006, Blank Rome established the Blank Rome Diverse Scholars Program to attract outstanding diverse law students from partner law schools. A strong and effective diversity program is a top priority for the Firm, and the Blank Rome Diverse Scholars Program exemplifies Blank Rome’s tangible commitment to the advancement of diverse law students and to the attainment of a more diverse legal community.
Blank Rome Diverse Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic achievement, demonstrated leadership, community service, work experience, and commitment to the practice of law. Each scholar is teamed up with a Blank Rome partner and an associate, who serve as mentors for the duration of the Summer Program.
Diverse students in their first year of law school at Fordham University School of Law in New York and University of Maryland School of Law in Baltimore are eligible to apply. A $7,500 scholarship is paid upon the successful completion of the Scholar's first-year summer, to be applied toward tuition, books, fees, and other expenses related to law school attendance. Blank Rome Scholars who are offered and accept the opportunity to join the Firm for a second summer will receive an additional $7,500 scholarship upon the successful completion of the Scholar’s second-year summer.
