Blank Rome’s Jayme Butcher Named Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s “Woman of the Year”

Blank Rome Partner Jayme L. Butcher has been named the 2017 “Woman of the Year” by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia chapter.

The Man & Woman of the Year (“MWOY”) campaign is a spirited ten-week fundraising competition among a select group of individuals in the community. Candidates and their teams raise funds for blood cancer research in honor of local children who are blood cancer survivors: the Boy & Girl of the Year.

The two winners, Ms. Butcher and John Goetz, raised $83,356 and $85,215 respectively, earning them the “Man & Woman of the Year” titles. Together, all 11 participants raised a total of $513,259 during the 10-week period.

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society announced the winners at the MWOY grand finale event held on May 20, at the Heinz Field in Pittsburgh. National MWOY award winners will be announced this summer.

At Blank Rome, Ms. Butcher concentrates her practice on complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts throughout the country. She is a member of Blank Rome’s Trade Secret and Non-Compete Litigation group. Active in the Pittsburgh community, she serves on the board of directors at the Sarah Heinz House and is a member of the Executive Leadership Council for the United Way of Allegheny County as well as the National United Way Women’s Leadership Council.
