Jeffrey N. Rosenthal Elected to the Board of Governors of the Philadelphia Bar Association

Blank Rome attorney Jeffrey N. Rosenthal was elected to the Board of Governors (“Board”) of the Philadelphia Bar Association (“Bar Association”) on December 9, 2014.  He is one of five members to be elected to the Board in a contested race, and will hold this position for a three-year term beginning January 1, 2015.  Mr. Rosenthal was most recently a member of the Executive Committee of the Young Lawyers Division of the Bar Association.

The Board establishes the official policy of the Bar Association.  Through resolutions, the Board adopts official positions on issues based on recommendations from the Bar Association’s sections and committees.  The Board meets once a month to act on Bar Association business, hearing and voting on resolution proposals from the sections and committees.  Each resolution the Board passes dictates the Bar Association’s position on that particular issue.

At Blank Rome, Mr. Rosenthal is an associate in the litigation department, concentrating his practice on diverse matters including complex corporate and commercial litigation, contract disputes, class action defense, and shareholder derivative actions.

Mr. Rosenthal is also active in a number of non-legal organizations.  He regularly volunteers with the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania, and completed the Leadership Development Program of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia.

In addition, Mr. Rosenthal has authored the Cyber Law column for The Legal Intelligencer since 2012, wherein he discusses the over-lapping areas of law and computing with an emphasis on the impact of new technologies, online privacy, software, intellectual property, and social networking sites on corporations, businesses, and individuals.  Most recently, Mr. Rosenthal authored the article “Philadelphia Joins New York in Issuing Social Media Guidance for Lawyers” in Bloomberg BNA Social Media Law & Policy Report, published on September 9, 2014.

Admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and the District of Columbia, Mr. Rosenthal received his law degree from Syracuse University College of Law where he served as Executive Editor of the Syracuse Law Review and was a director of the Moot Court Honor Society.  Mr. Rosenthal completed his undergraduate studies at The Pennsylvania State University where he earned a BS in Business Management, Smeal College of Business, and a BS in Psychology.
