Jeanne M. Grasso, partner in Blank Rome's maritime practice group, will speak on a panel session entitled “High Risk Facilities—Chemical Security Regulations” at the 17th Annual Clean Gulf Conference in Tampa, Florida, on November 15-16.

Clean Gulf 2007 is a conference tailored to companies from throughout the oil and chemical spill, maritime security industry, and the marine salvage industry. Clean Gulf Conference remains focused on the real challenges, trends, and solutions that affect the energy industry, regulatory community, and responders.

Ms. Grasso focuses her practice in the areas of maritime and environmental law. Her practice involves issues confronting manufacturing facilities, vessels, and cargo owners on an international, federal, and state level, including issues associated with the Clean Water Act, the Oil Pollution Act of 1990, the Maritime Transportation Security Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, and the Occupational Safety and Health Act.

Ms. Grasso has extensive experience in compliance counseling and in defending companies in criminal, civil, and administrative enforcement actions involving federal and state agencies, including the Department of Justice, the U.S. Coast Guard, Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Defense, the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. Her involvement in enforcement actions commonly includes crisis management, conducting internal investigations, negotiating with government agencies, and handling grand jury and other investigations, as well as compliance counseling.
