Water Management for Shale Plays 2013

Michael L. Krancer, partner and practice group leader of Blank Rome's energy, petrochemical and natural resources practice group, will be presenting on "Northeast: Marcellus & Utica" at the “Water Management Regulatory Update: Rockies/West, Texas Gulf Coast, Midcontinent, and Northeast” briefing during the Water Management for Shale Plays 2013 Conference on Monday, June 10, 2013 at the Grand Hyatt Denver in Colorado.

Mr. Krancer will speak from 3:00 to 3:30 p.m., and will then be followed by Steve Hughes, Water Management Group Manager – Appalachian Basin Oil and Gas Services, TETRA TECH, from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m., to discuss the following:

  • What are the most critical issues when it comes to sourcing and treating water in this region?
  • What aspects of the geography influence water sourcing and disposal most?
  • What is the future availability of injection disposal sites in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia?
  • Disposal well permits: What’s actually being issued?
  • What disposal regulations are in play that affect how and where water can be disposed of?
  • What current waste regulations affect how wastewater is being treated/released/recycled?
  • What proposed regulatory changes are in the works that could affect water treatment and disposal plans going forward?

The Water Management Regulatory Update briefing will provide an update on the latest regulations relative to water management and how these regulations will impact operations. Participants will receive an assessment of how each region’s geography influences water management plans, and how treatment, re-use, and disposal challenges and solutions vary from play-to-play.
