Regulators Roundtable: Recent Developments in Government Enforcement

5th Annual National Institute on Internal Corporate Investigations and Forum for In-House Counsel
Washington, D.C.

Nicholas C. Harbist, partner in Blank Rome's litigation group, will be speaking at the American Bar Association's (ABA) 5th Annual National Institute on Internal Corporate Investigations and Forum for In-House Counsel, which will be held at the St. Regis in Washington, D.C. on April 24-26.

Mr. Harbist will be moderating the "Regulators Roundtable: Recent Developments in Government Enforcement" panel on April 25, commencing at 10:15 a.m.  He and a group of panelists will discuss what government officials and agency regulators expect from in-house counsel, directors, and the business community; how they will view joint defense agreements; whether cooperation with their investigation is going to be helpful to the company; and the government’s view of using in-house corporate resources rather than outside counsel and consultants to conduct investigations.  The panel will also explore current trends and areas of particular focus among the key investigative/regulatory agencies, as well as key legislation and pending regulations that are likely to significantly impact how companies must conduct their future operations.

This three-day program offers CLE credit.  During the course of the event, attendees will:

  • Learn strategies to avoid new threats facing in-house counsel
  • Gain practical knowledge about the responsible corporate officers doctrine
  • Increase familiarity with current compliance and fraud investigation procedures
