Lessons Learned: A Look Over the Horizon

Jonathan K. Waldron, partner in Blank Rome's maritime group, will be speaking at the Clean Gulf 2010 conference, to be held in Tampa, FL, on October 19 and 20 at the Tampa Convention Center.

Mr. Waldron's panel, "Lessons Learned: A Look Over the Horizon", will be held on October 20 from 12:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.  The panel will be moderated by Tim Langford, Emergency Response Coordinator, Shell Exploration and Production Company, and will include RADM Kevin Cook, U.S. Coast Guard, and David Westerholm, Director, Office of Response and Restoration, NOAA.  A representative from the Environmental Protection Agency will also be featured.  The panelists will discuss how the maritime industry should apply the lessons learned from the Deepwater Horizon incident for the future, including changes to policies and procedures. 

Mr. Waldron will specifically present on spill legislation issues and cover important topics such as: the status of legislation in the House and Senate, key House provisions in the Clear Act, key Senate provisions in the Clean Energy Jobs and Oil Spill Accountability Act, and the legislative forecast for the end of the year and 2011.

Clean Gulf 2010 is the largest oil spill training event and exhibition in North America.  Exhibiting companies will have an opportunity to meet and converse with leading industry buyers, including interested corporate and government personnel in a focused environment.  Over 2,000 decision-makers, specifiers, and buyers will be in attendance specifically to gain information and find products and services for their oil and haz-mat spill, deepwater response and marine salvage problems.
