Environmental Intelligence in Shipping and the Seafarer

2010 National Maritime Day Seminar

Blank Rome LLP is proud to be a sponsor of the 2010 National Maritime Day seminar, which will be held in Washington, DC on May 18 at the National Press Club from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The seminar will be hosted by the North American Marine Environment Protection Association (NAMEPA) and the North American Maritime Ministry Association (NAMMA); the theme of this year's seminar is "Environmental Intelligence in Shipping and the Seafarer." 

Duncan C. Smith, partner at Blank Rome, is the seminar chairman and will speak on legislative issues impacting the marine environment and mariners.

RADM Brian Salerno is the seminar moderator and will speak on key areas of focus for the United States Coast Guard in the marine environment and mariners.

Other important issues that will be covered during the seminar include:

  • Power of public/private collaboration
  • Shipowners/Operators’ collaborations to meet environmental regulations
