Blank Rome Hosts Inaugural Women’s Forum Retreat

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Blank Rome hosted more than 120 women professionals from the Firm’s Philadelphia, New York, WashingtonD.C., Princeton, Wilmington, Cherry Hill, Boca Raton, and Cincinnati offices at its inaugural firm-wide Women’s Forum Retreat held April 10–11 in Philadelphia. The retreat celebrated Blank Rome’s strong community of women and provided a forum to network and discuss career development, leadership opportunities, and strategies for success. In recognition of the importance of bringing together and fostering growth among women in law and government affairs, presidential candidate Senator Hillary Clinton made a special guest appearance, motivating the women to pursue their ambitions.

“Blank Rome is proud to have such an outstanding community of women and a culture that encourages leadership development,” said Bonnie Glantz Fatell, chair of the Blank Rome Women’s Forum and Business Restructuring and Bankruptcy Practice Group Leader. “Our first Women’s Forum Retreat proved to be a success on many levels, and we look forward to continuing to develop and provide ongoing programs implementing our Women’s Initiative.”

The full-day retreat was kicked off by opening remarks from the Firm’s managing partner and CEO Carl M. Buchholz, followed by a guest appearance from Senator Hillary Clinton who commented on women achieving their ambitions. Blank Rome partners Joan Stern, Ann Laupheimer, Sheila Riesel, Bonnie Fatell, and principal Geraldine Ferraro shared their experiences and their paths to positions of leadership. Additional presentations were delivered by Dr. Arin Reeves of the Athens Group, Inc, and Lauren Stiller Rikleen of the Bowditch Institute for Women’s Success and Bowditch & Dewey, LLP.

Blank Rome is committed to excellence in its fields of endeavor, and recognizes that a diversity of ideas, backgrounds, and experiences is crucial to fulfilling this commitment. This commitment extends to all activities of the Firm, internal and external, including ongoing efforts to recruit, promote and retain talented individuals throughout the Firm representing, among other things, different races, genders, ethnic groups, religions, sexual orientation, and national origin.
