The Legal Intelligencer's 2017 Lawyers on the Fast Track

Blank Rome Partner James Quinlan and Associate Stephanie Gantman Kaplan were recognized as 2017 Lawyers on the Fast Track by The Legal Intelligencer.
They are among 32 attorneys who were selected by a six-member judging panel composed of evaluators from all corners of the legal profession and the state.
The awards were announced in April 2017, and published in the June 12, 2017, edition of The Legal Intelligencer. The awards dinner will be held at the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia on June 22.

Practice Profile: Quinlan works in products liability and casualty litigation with focuses in the industries of aviation including unmanned systems—drones and maritime, product warranty counseling, and consumer financial services litigation.
Leadership Activity: For five years, Quinlan has served on a firm committee through which he has served as a litigation mentor and "trial court guide" for students in Temple University's Master of Laws degree (LL.M.) program in Beijing to educate Chinese judges, prosecutors, government officials (including NPC and state council legal staff), law professors, and lawyers in U.S. and international legal principles. He also serves as a marketing coordinator/representative for the firm's energy, environment and mass torts practice group.
Pro Bono and Civic Work: Quinlan has worked on a wide variety of pro bono cases from representing Holocaust survivors seeking Holocaust-related pensions from the German government to a single mother battling cancer while going through a divorce and custody battle. He also volunteers at the SeniorLAW Center.

Practice Profile: Kaplan's practice focuses on labor and employment, employment litigation, employment practices, trade secret protection, employee defection and unfair competition, labor arbitrations, wage and hour advice and litigation.
"Stephanie provides vital assistance to and performs high-profile work for major firm clients in the areas of litigation, appeals, transactional work and in general representation and counsel in labor and employment matters," said Scott F. Cooper, co-chair of the firm's labor and employment practice group.
Leadership Activity: Kaplan is a member of the firm's associates committee, where she acts as an associate liaison to partnership, advocating for associate interests including assisting in drafting and implementation of revisions to maternity leave policy and obtaining a budget for and planning social events. She served as co-drafter and co-presenter of firmwide workplace conduct training and managed drafting and implementation of firmwide anti-discrimination and anti-harassment training for all attorneys and managers and served as one of the training presenters. She is also an associate mentor currently mentoring three associates.
Pro Bono and Civic Work: Kaplan has dedicated the majority of her pro bono efforts to serving youth in Philadelphia's child welfare system. She works with the Support Center for Child Advocates, serving as a child advocate in cases involving child victims serving as witnesses in criminal proceedings; youth in the foster-care system; and youth who are transitioning out of the foster care system and are being adopted. She has also utilized her labor and employment background to assist nonprofits on a pro bono basis. For example, she advises a local nonprofit in the arts, the Philadelphia Photo Art Center, on employment matters and drafted an employee handbook for the organization. Kaplan has also handled two matters in New Jersey state court representing individuals with respect to parole violation matters.
