Stacy Phillips, a family law specialist and partner at the Century City office of Blank Rome, often sees her high-profile and celebrity clients at a low point in their private lives as they struggle through a divorce or a stressful custody issue.
That's why she designed her office, filled with art, family photos, fresh flowers, comfortable furniture, and pastel colors, to make the process as painless as possible. On a side wall hans a small painting by Renoir; on the green accent wall behind her desk is a large-scale piece by David Hockney of a female figure in a folding chair.
"When people come in here, they invariably comment that it's beautiful, it's calming, and the firm went out of their way to help me do that," Phillips said. "They enlarged the office for me in order to honor clients who were going through a very difficult time. Meet them in a conference room? That's not my clientele."
