Blank Rome’s James B. Ellis II Receives Pro Bono Distinguished Service Award by USCGA Alumni Association

Blank Rome Of Counsel James B. Ellis II received a “Distinguished Service” award by the U.S. Coast Guard Academy (“USCGA”) Alumni Association for his pro bono legal work and service on the Association’s Board of Directors.

The USCGA Alumni Association provides services to and promotes fellowship among its members, raising funds to provide "margin of excellence" support to the Corps of Cadets and to preserve traditions and enhance the reputation of the Academy. For more information, please click here.

At Blank Rome, Mr. Ellis focuses his practice on complex corporate transactions and regulatory matters for clients in the maritime and transportation industry. He is an experienced negotiator in both the public and private sectors, and has extensive experience in working with all segments of the domestic and international maritime industry. Mr. Ellis was a founder of Dyer Ellis & Joseph, which merged with Blank Rome in 2003. Prior to this, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard, rising to the rank of commander. Mr. Ellis also served as deputy U.S. representative to the UN Law of the Sea Conference for transportation issues, and graduated from the prestigious Sloan Fellows Program at MIT.
