Blank Rome’s Regina Stango Kelbon to be Inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy

Regina Stango Kelbon, Chair of the Business Restructuring and Bankruptcy Practice Group and Partner at Blank Rome LLP, will be inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy on March 14 in Washington, D.C.  The ceremony will take place at the Smithsonian Donald W. Reynolds Center for American Art and Portraiture, and will be presided over by D.J. (Jan) Baker, Chair of the College.

“This is a tremendous accomplishment and we congratulate Regina on this well-deserved recognition,” said Alan J. Hoffman, Blank Rome Co-Chairman and Managing Partner.  “Regina is the fourth Blank Rome Partner who presently holds this honorable distinction.  In becoming a Fellow, she joins Thomas E. Biron, Bonnie Glantz Fatell, and Raymond L. Shapiro.”   

The 2014 Class of Fellows is comprised of 33 nominees who are being honored and recognized for their professional excellence and exceptional contributions to the fields of bankruptcy and insolvency.  Nominees undergo a rigorous nomination process and are extended an invitation to join based on a record of achievement reflecting the highest standards of professionalism; significant contributions to the community; ethics, character, integrity, professional expertise, and leadership contributing to the enhancement of bankruptcy and insolvency law and practice; sustained evidence of scholarship, teaching, lecturing, or writing on bankruptcy or insolvency; and a commitment to elevate the knowledge and understanding of the profession, as well as public respect for the practice.

Fellows include commercial and consumer bankruptcy attorneys, insolvency accountants, turnaround and workout specialists, law professors, judges, government officials, and others involved in the bankruptcy and insolvency community.  The College now has 831 Fellows, each selected by a Board of Regents from among recommendations of the Circuit Admissions Council in each federal judicial circuit and specially appointed Committees for Judicial and Foreign Fellows.   For more information about the American College of Bankruptcy, or the 2014 Induction Ceremony, visit www.americancollegeofbankruptcy.com.

At Blank Rome, Ms. Kelbon concentrates her practice on bankruptcy, reorganizations, and workouts, along with other banking and commercial lending matters.  Chambers USA ranks Ms. Kelbon as a leader in the fields of bankruptcy and restructuring in both Delaware and Pennsylvania.  She serves on the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association, and also chairs the Association’s Networking Organization for Women.  She also serves as Chair of the American Bar Association’s Business Bankruptcy Subcommittee on Corporate Governance, and as a Board Member and Executive Committee Member of the Consumer Bankruptcy Assistance Project for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.  In addition, Ms. Kelbon serves as a mediator for the Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and frequently lectures and writes for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and the American Bar Association on insolvency and restructuring issues.
