ABA Panel on Legal Issues Surrounding the Gulf Oil Crisis

Jonathan K. Waldron, partner in Blank Rome's maritime practice, will moderate a panel hosted by the American Bar Association’s Center for Continuing Legal Education titled, “The Gulf Oil Crisis: Enforcement & Claims Handling Update.” The teleconference and live audio webcast will take place October 13, 2010 at 1 p.m.

The program, coordinated by Kevin J. The panel will also discuss and evaluate the claims handling process and protocols under the Oil Pollution Act and the Gulf Coast Claims Facility.

Mr. Waldron practices in Blank Rome’s Washington, D.C. office and concentrates his practice in maritime, international, and environmental law, including maritime security. He counsels clients, both domestically and internationally, in areas such as citizenship and manning issues, including outer continental shelf exemptions; coastwise trade; criminal defense; environmental maritime compliance and pollution response; maritime security compliance; LNG licensing; and vessel/facility operations and legislative and regulatory affairs. Mr. Waldron served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 20 years, attaining the rank of commander, and was senior counsel to the Marine Spill Response Corporation, where he provided on-scene legal advice at major spill events.
