Frederick D. Lipman to Speak at Corporate Governance Conference at the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva

Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that senior partner, Frederick D. Lipman, was invited by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) to speak at their October 12, 2010 worldwide conference entitled “Corporate Governance in the Wake of the Financial Crisis,” to be held at the United Nations Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. The conference addresses the link between corporate governance and accountancy professions by exploring approaches for reforms on a global level and allows participants to communicate, strategize and achieve consensus on fundamental objectives for the post-crisis landscape.

Mr. Lipman has more than 50 years of experience advising a wide range of clients in corporate governance, including special committee and controlling shareholder representation; trust law; mergers and acquisitions; insurance; private equity and IPOs. Mr. Lipman is an internationally-known authority on business law and has authored 13 books, including , The Family Business Guide (Palgrave Macmillan 2010), Corporate Governance Best Practices (John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 2006) which is used in a number of universities around the world, Executive Compensation Best Practices (John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 2008), which was recently cited by the SEC in changing compensation disclosures for all public companies, and Audit Committees (The Bureau of National Affairs, Inc. 2010).
