Nicholas C. Harbist Appointed National Co-Chair of the ABA White Collar Crime Committee

Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that Nicholas C. Harbist, partner in the Firm’s white collar defense & investigations group, has been appointed to serve as National Co-Chair of the American Bar Association’s White Collar Crime Committee, a division of the Criminal Justice Section. As National Co-Chair, Mr. Harbist will direct the Committee and develop its goals for the upcoming two years in areas including white collar crime projects, programs, publications, policies and issues. Mr. Harbist previously served as National Vice-Chair of the Committee in 2008 – 2009.

The Committee explores practice problems relating to white collar criminal issues and sentencing guidelines for organizations; develops policy; and sponsors annual CLE programs on securities fraud, health care fraud, gaming, qui tam enforcement/Civil False Claims Act, and money laundering. The Committee also works with representatives of the Department of Justice to discuss reforms in federal criminal procedure and sentencing policy. Founded in 1920, the Criminal Justice Section of the American Bar Association has over 20,000 members, including prosecutors, private defense counsel, appellate and trial judges, law professors, correctional and law enforcement personnel, law students, public defenders, and other criminal justice professionals.
