Magic Pipe Crew 'Must Stay in US'

Jeanne M. Grasso, partner at Blank Rome, was recently quoted in Lloyd's List article Magic Pipe Crew 'Must Stay in U.S.' on March 24, 2010.  The article was written by Rajesh Joshi as part of Lloyd's List's media coverage of the annual Connecticut Maritime Association (CMA) Shipping 2010 Conference in Stamford, CT March 22-24.

The article provides an overview of comments made by Mr. Richard Udell, a trial attorney at the US Department of Justice's environmental crimes section, at the CMA Conference regarding the development that seafarers who are implicated in magic pipe cases must stay indefinitely in the US while investigations proceed because this is the US government’s way of “protecting their rights."  Ms. Grasso weighs in on the comments made by Mr. Udell.
