Michael J. Hanlon and Lauren Fox Blank Rome advised Tasty Baking Company in the employment aspects of its $34 million sale to Georgia-based Flowers Foods Inc. Tasty Baking Co. engaged the Firm last year to advise in labor negotiations when the workers at Tasty Baking’s new plant at the Navy Yard complex organized. Blank Rome represented the company in the collective bargaining process with the certified workers, and was able, on a very tight timeline, to secure an acceptable agreement with the union, ensuring labor stability at the bakery, which was a key component leading up to the sale.

Hanlon AmQuip Crane Rental LLC in its acquisition of the business and assets of Powell Equipment Company, one of Atlanta’s most established crane rental companies. The transaction resulted in the formation of the Powell AmQuip division which will expand operations of AmQuip’s Southeast region.
