Shaun J. Bockert

Biography

Shaun Bockert concentrates his practice on business and transactional matters, with a focus on:

  • Mergers and Acquisitions—private equity and venture capital investments, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, asset spin-offs, and other strategic and business sale transactions
  • Technology Transactions—licensing, research, development, manufacturing, supply, collaboration, procurement, and distribution agreements and other commercial transactions
  • Media and Digital Marketing—data collection, processing, and security programs, social media campaigns, content rights and publishing deals, affiliate marketing agreements, publicity rights and endorsements, and other marketing and promotional arrangements

He has experience serving a broad spectrum of clients, including funds and institutional investors, and publicly traded and private companies, as well as entrepreneurs, start-ups, and other emerging businesses.

Before joining Blank Rome, Shaun was a fellow in the intellectual property division of the Philadelphia Law Department.

Outside the Firm

Shaun is Co-Chair of the Advisory Council of Mural Arts Philadelphia.

Experience

  • Sungard Availability Services, a provider of critical production and recovery services to global enterprise companies, in numerous transactions, including (i) the sale of its Assurance Business Continuity Management Planning software business to Resurgens Technology Partners; and (ii) the sale of certain of the Company’s non-core U.S assets of its Managed Services business located in Illinois (including certain real property and customer contracts) to an affiliate of Element Critical.
  • Bombora, Inc., a provider of demographic, firmographic, and intent data, in its acquisition of netFactor Corporation, a provider of software-based products and services that generate and collect firmographic and other marketing data.
  • eLocal USA LLC, a leader in performance-based advertising for local, regional, and national service businesses, in its acquisition of both Felix Calls, LLC (a pay-per-action advertising business) and CityGrid Media, LLC (a local content and advertising network) from InterActiveCorp (IAC) and its affiliates.
  • Nearly Natural, a rapidly growing e-commerce platform primarily offering a broad assortment of artificial plants, flowers and trees, in connection with an investment transaction with Centre Partners, a New York based private equity firm.
  • Madison Logic, a digital marketing company focused on business-to-business lead generation and account based marketing solutions, in its sale to Clarion Partners, a New York based private equity fund.
  • Syngin Technology, LLC, a provider of automated logistics solutions for disposition of used vehicles, in the sale of 70% of the company to a subsidiary of Wallenius Wilhelmsen, a global provider of logistics and shipping solutions.
  • NewSpring Holdings, a leading diversified holding company focused on acquiring and building companies in logistics, managed services, financial software and technology, and government services.
  • Siemens Corporation, in various transactions, including, (i) in the acquisition by Siemens Healthineers of Corindus Vascular Robotics, Inc. (NYSE: CVRS), a publicly traded, global technology leader for robotic-assisted vascular interventions; (ii) the global sale by Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics of a healthcare-related business line to Beckman Coulter, a subsidiary of Danaher corporation; and (iii) the formation of Fluence Energy, LLC, a 50/50 joint venture with The AES Corporation, which will be a global energy storage technology and services company reaching customers in over 160 countries.
