Steve Edwards concentrates his practice on intellectual property law, with a primary focus on patent litigation from pre-suit investigation and counseling to dispute resolution through trial and appeal.
Mr. Edwards counsels clients on intellectual property enforcement matters, defensive and offensive litigation strategy, settlement negotiations, and licensing. Over the past fifteen years, he has amassed significant experience in litigating patent damages, including primary responsibility for plaintiff and defense cases in which damage claims exceeded a half billion dollars. He also has extensive experience in counseling regarding IP strategy and portfolio management, including freedom to operate and product clearance, and IP due diligence in association with potential mergers and acquisitions.
Additionally, he has international litigation experience, having worked closely with foreign litigation counsel in the United Kingdom, France, Korea, and Australia in the preparation of patent lawsuits in those jurisdictions.
Mr. Edwards authored the article, “Licensee must repudiate license to bring challenge,” in the National Law Journal (October 17, 2005), as well as Chapter 3 of the Patent Law Handbook by West Group (1995-1996 editions).

Mr. Edwards is a life member of the Texas Bar Foundation, and a former member of the T. John Ward Inn of Court. He is also a member of the Intellectual Property Law Sections of the State Bar of Texas and the Texas Bar Association, as well as a member of the Intellectual Property Litigation Section of the American Bar Association.
