Charrise Alexander is an associate in Blank Rome’s policyholder-only insurance coverage practice, formerly the insurance practice of Dickstein Shapiro LLP. Ms. Alexander represents corporate policyholders in complex insurance disputes, and handles civil actions encompassing various insurance coverage issues.
In law school, she received the dean’s scholarship from the University of Miami. She was also a recipient of a scholarship from the Aqua Foundation.
COMMUNITY SERVICE & AFFILIATIONS
Ms. Alexander is an associate trustee for the Washington Lawyers’ Committee. She also dedicates a portion of her practice to pro bono clients. Her work has resulted in positive results for clients in Maryland and Washington, D.C., courts.
She is a former member of the Center for Ethics in Public Service as a Street Law Fellow, a member of The Society of Bar and Gavel and the Psychology and Public Policy Law Journal, and a James Weldon Johnson/Robert H. Waters Fellow.
Ms. Alexander is a film connoisseur and has been the festival coordinator and served on the selection committee for the Miami Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. She is also beginning her foray into running and recently ran the Lawyers Have Heart 5k.
In 2016, Ms. Alexander was selected for membership in The National Black Lawyers' “Top 40 Under 40.”
In June 2016, Ms. Alexander received an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Washington Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights and Urban Affairs, for her work on behalf of the Equal Rights Center in litigation to secure accessible housing for people with disabilities.
Additionally, she was selected for the Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll for 2015.
