Sydney Jones concentrates her practice on general litigation and labor and employment matters. Her civil litigation practice includes matters related to business and contract disputes, the enforcement and defense of non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, and the False Claims Act.
Ms. Jones also advises clients on matters concerning compliance with federal and state employment laws, including Title IX, reductions in force, and employment leave issues, and counsels clients on Fair Labor Standards Act classifications, employment discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and employment policies. She also has experience representing companies in litigation arising from employee terminations.
While in law school, Ms. Jones was the assistant special projects editor for the Virginia Law & Business Review and was awarded the Pro Bono Service Certificate of Recognition for completing over 100 hours of pro bono service.
Prior to joining Blank Rome, Ms. Jones served as a judicial intern for the Hon. Barbara Lynn, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
COMMUNITY SERVICE & AFFILIATIONS
Ms. Jones serves as co-chair of the Virginia Bar Association Young Lawyers Division Diversity Committee, and is a tutor in Blank Rome's Thurgood Marshall Academy tutoring program. She also interviews prospective Duke students, as a member of the Duke University Alumni Association.
