Leigh Ann Buziak concentrates her practice in the area of complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts throughout the country. Ms. Buziak represents clients in:
- Disputes involving theft of trade secrets and proprietary information, with a focus on theft of electronic information, including claims under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act;
- Enforcement and defense of non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, including time-sensitive injunction proceedings;
- Business and contract disputes, with experience litigating breach of reps and warranties in purchase agreements and options to purchase; and
- Class-action litigation
Ms. Buziak also has significant experience in managing electronic discovery and forensic analysis of electronic evidence.
Ms. Buziak was recognized by The Legal Intelligencer as an "unsung hero" for her pro bono work on a case involving attempts to expunge the criminal record of the first Pennsylvania citizen released from prison on the basis of after-acquired DNA evidence. She also was selected as one of Pennsylvania's "Lawyers on the Fast Track" and a "Rising Star."
During law school, Ms. Buziak served as a legal intern for the Honorable Bruce I. Fox, bankruptcy judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Ms. Buziak serves on the Firm’s Recruitment and Retention Committee and co-chaired the Summer Associate Program in 2007, 2008 and 2011.
COMMUNITY SERVICE & AFFILIATIONS
Ms. Buziak serves on The Legal Intelligencer’s Young Lawyer Editorial Board. Ms. Buziak also volunteers to provide pro bono legal services for the Philadelphia Volunteers for the Indigent Program (VIP), the Homeless Advocacy Project (HAP) and the SeniorLAW Center.
Ms. Buziak is a member and fundraiser for Back on My Feet, an organization that promotes the self-sufficiency of the homeless population through running, successfully coaching members to complete the Philadelphia Marathon, Philadelphia Distance Run and the Broad Street Run.
